Fume Hoods are laboratory equipment that are specially designed to ensure the safety of personnel and other inhabitants of the room. It filters out harmful gases and also protects from small explosions or splashes. This system consists of an accompanying air duct and a strong exhaust fan or air pump. When the exhaust is operating, it sucks volumes of air through the open side and vents it through the duct. Then duct releases the fumes right outside the room in the air, or may run it through a filtration system.
