Colony Counters
Most of the biological procedures rely on bacterial colonies and cells. Bacterial colony counters are the devices that are used to estimate the number of colonies growing on an agar plate, slide, or Petri dish. The agar plate is placed on an electronic pressure pad with light illumination, then the colonies are marked with an auto marker probe pen by tapping the plate. The pressure of the touch registers a count in the digital display. Typical applications include Ames testing, bacterial mutation assays, and E. coli bacterial colonies.
Also known as Bacterial Colony Counter, Colonometer.
