Chemical Identification Analyzers

Chemical Identification Analyzers are electronic devices that are used to detect explosives, narcotics, toxic industrial chemicals, chemical warfare agents, etc. It works on the principle of (FTIR) Raman spectroscopy which is a vibrational spectroscopy technique, the sample is excited by laser then the small portion of light undergoes inelastic scattering of light. When the sample is illuminated with the laser, a few of the laser light rays will be absorbed by the sample to excite molecular vibrations, causing Raman scattering, the scattered light is further identified by the detector to determine the frequency. Each compound’s Raman spectrum is unique and serves as a “chemical fingerprint” that can be used to identify an unknown compound or a mixture of compounds.
