This class of cabinets is similar to class I cabinets but in addition it also protects the environment. It includes inward airflow through an open front slash with an extra HEPA filter that filters around 70- 100% of the air and directs it vertically down to the surface in a Laminar Flow. This airflow maintains the sterility of the environment and prevents cross-contamination. Minimum average airflow velocity requirements are depending upon the type and range of exhaust arrangements that can recirculate clean air within the exhaust and the working chamber.
