Zero Air Generators produce zero air i.e. atmospheric air purified to contain less than 0.1 ppm total hydrocarbons. It is produced by catalytic processing that involves thermocatalytic combustion in which the compressed air is first passed through a particulate filter and further passed into a heat chamber. The heat chamber consists temperature of 500°C, the air is passed through the matrix that contains the catalyst made up of a combination of exotic metals. The air passed through the catalyst in the matrix (particularly methane) gets oxidized and breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. Then this air exits the heated chamber, is cooled, and passed through a final filter to remove bulk water. Further, the air is released into the surrounding environment.
