Walk In fume hoods also called as floor mounted hoods are large hoods that are bolted directly on the ground with no work surface. This facilitates the use of large equipment or other items that would not fit on the surface of a regular fume hood. Walk-in hoods can often be used like a traditional fume hood. Even though the name implies that individuals could walk into the hood, personnel should not enter the hood while working with hazardous materials as this may lead to exposure.
