Blood Bank Refrigerators are designed refrigeration systems that are used to store blood and blood components i.e. serum, plasma, platelets, and blood cells at controlled temperature. These refrigerators are used to maintain a constant stable temperature that ranges between 2°C to 6°C (35.6°F to 42.8°F) to ensure the viability and integrity of the blood and blood products. The blood bags are generally stored at 4°C to prevent the growth of viable microorganisms and preserve the quality and safety of blood products. These are widely used in the immunohematology department and laboratory diagnostics.
