Nitrogen Generators
Nitrogen generators are laboratory devices used for the production of nitrogen from atmospheric air that consists of approximately 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gases such as argon and water vapor. It works on the principle of membrane nitrogen generation or membrane separation. The membrane is made up of a bundle of hollow fibers arranged in a cylindrical shell and a tube heat exchanger through which compressed air is passed. The compressed air is passed through the inlet end of the separator and further passed through the hollow fibers in which air molecules start to permeate the fibers according to their permeability. Oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor permeate faster than nitrogen, which leads to the production of a super-dry nitrogen stream at the outlet end. The oxygen-rich stream is vented into the atmosphere.
Used in GC-FID, FPD, NPD, TCD, AED, GC-MS, LC-MS-MS, ICP / NMR, FTIR / IR, ELSD detector, Purging, Ampule Filling, Thermal instruments, Turbo Evaporator (N2 Concentrator), All Analytical Instruments.
