Thermogravimetric analysis is a technique that measures the mass changes in the sample as a function of temperature under the controlled atmosphere. The equipment consists of a furnace to control the heat while a balance to measure the changes in the weight of the sample. TGA has a broad range of applications which includes determining the composition of complex molecules (polymers, composites, etc.), evaluating thermal stability, and measuring the moisture & volatile content of the sample.
