A gloss meter is a device that is used to measure the specular reflection i.e. gloss of the surface. When a light beam is projected on the incident surface at an equal but opposite angle with fixed intensity, it gets reflected which is further measured to determine the gloss. It is used to measure the glossiness of materials such as paint, ceramic, marble, ink and plastics, etc.
